From start to finish the process of tractor restoration takes between 140 and 180 hours.

  • The first step is to check for areas needing special work.
  • Next remove outer hoods and covers.
  • After pressure washing, the tractor is dismantled.
  • Snapshots are taken of detailed areas that will need help with reassembly.
  • The parts are then cleaned again and repairs are done if necessary.
  • Prepare all parts for painting and then prime and top coat with paint.
  • Fitting and reassembling all parts.
  • Check for correct operation.

Tim was one of nine children born to Francis and Shirley Speltz. Growing up on a farm in southeastern Minnesota he learned out of necessity to repair and maintain farm machinery. His education in tool and die further enhanced his knowledge. In retirement, Tim now has time to enjoy doing what he loves and knows so well.
